In 1740, Samuel Davies and early patriots including Patrick Henry launched America's fight for religious freedom at this Virginia site. Stand where Davies advocated for the liberty principles that became our First Amendment. The Illumination

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Join us for a magical evening as we illuminate the church and kick off the festivities. There's something for everyone: capture a memory with Santa, enjoy live music, and warm up with some refreshments. Bring your lawn chairs, and sit around with friends and family to get into the spirit!

Homecoming at Pine Slash — A Colonial Christmas with Patrick Henry

Historic Polegreen Church Foundations invites you to step back into time for an unforgettable evening at Pine Slash for the holidays. Experience the festive season full of warmth, traditions, and stories of a colonial Christmas through guided tours and period interpretation in the historic setting where Henry once lived.

Join Patrick Henry, portrayed by his 5th great grandson, Patrick Henry Jolly for an intimate journey into the past as he talks about his life in 18th century Virginia. Patrick Henry Jolly can often be found at Red Hill, the last home and burial spot of Patrick Henry located in Charlotte, VA.

Date and Times: Friday, December 4, 2026. Choose one of three times: 4:00 PM, 5:15 PM, or 6:30 PM. Address: 6357 Old Thomas CT, Mechanicsville, VA 23116

Cost: $20 per person. Space is limited to 20 in each group. Refreshments included (hot cider and ginger snaps).
